With new flight routes opening up every year, we’re here to keep you in the know. Be the first to travel on these routes, getting you to your favourite destinations more quickly and with more ease than ever before!

1. London > Kilimanjaro & Zanzibar, Tanzania direct with British Airways

Hailed to start in summer 2027, these direct flights will make a Tanzania Safari & Beach holiday that bit more accessible! Spot the Big 5 in the Serengeti before relaxing on palm-fringed beaches in the Indian Ocean!

2. London > Sydney, Australia direct with Qantas

Welcome to a world first! Codenamed ‘Project Sunrise’, Qantas brings us the first ever non-stop flight from the UK to the east coast of Australia from October 2027. With a custom-designed Airbus reducing flight times, this new direct flight will no doubt be popular!

Sydney, Australia

3. UK to Pokhara, Nepal via Dubai with Emirates

After trekking in Nepal why not recover on the luxurious beaches of Dubai? Pokhara has excellent access to the Annapurna range which rivals the Himalayas for trekking (arguably the views are better as they look towards the Himalayas). For those who want to arrive straight to the tranquility of Nepal, this is an excellent new option (started September 2026).

Nepal

4. London > Buenos Aires, Argentina direct with British Airways

It’s back! Since 2023 a flight to Buenos Aires has meant a touch down or layover in Brazil, but from April 2027 the direct flight will be restored. Think easier access to Argentine wine, natural wonders and Latin flair.

5. London > Melbourne, Australia (with a short stop in Kuala Lumpur) with British Airways

Although not a direct route, this new offering from BA will operate from London to Melbourne on the same aircraft with a short stop in Kuala Lumpur. Starting in January 2027 this should be running just in time for the Australian Open.

Melbourne Australia

6. London > Phuket, Thailand direct with Virgin

Relaxing Thai beaches just got a bit more relaxing! Without the need to stop in the Middle East or Bangkok, you can spend that extra bit of time soaking up the sun. Due to start in October 2026.

Phuket, Thailand

7. Cardiff > Toronto, Canada direct with WestJet

The first intercontinental flight out of Cardiff since 2020! Flying four times a week from May 2027 this is the perfect route for those looking for fabulous food, iconic landmarks and excellent markets.

Toronto Canada

8. Cape Town > Mauritius & Zanzibar direct with Airlink

Combining the sights (and wine flights) of Cape Town with these Indian Ocean gems is now that bit easier! Base yourself in Cape Town for a week then head to postcard-perfect beaches for some rest and relaxation! Starting from October 2026 it’s not too late to snap up some winter sun!

Mauritius

And a teaser for 2028… Sydney to New York is hailed to commence in mid 2028 becoming the second longest flight in the world (after the London – Sydney route!)
