Built on the site of the former summer residence of Lord Kitchener, Wildflower Hall (part of the Oberoi Hotels & Resorts group) is rich in colonial ambience. Dating back to 1904 and popularly known as ‘the grand old lady of the falls’, the iconic Victoria Falls Hotel occupies a great location just a 15 minute walk from the majestic waterfall. Built by the British, it was originally conceived as accommodation for workers on the Cape-to-Cairo railway. Steeped in history, Thotalagala is a refurbished planters’ bungalow located on the Pitaratmalie Estate with sweeping views, and is adjacent to the estate planted by Sir Thomas Lipton himself. Guests can visit the factory and the bungalow that was Sir Lipton’s residence from 1890 to 1910 and spend time walking through the plantation. Hacienda Zuleta is the perfect place to relax at the end of what will have likely been a busy Ecuador itinerary. Set on a working farm amidst spectacular Andean scenery, this charming hacienda (dating back to the 17th Century) features traditional touches throughout. Now owned by the family of 2 former Presidents, the extended family still stay most weekends.


Boasting original features and a lot of character, each room is different but all feature a log burner. What sets Zuleta apart is the food, served in the communal dining room made with locally grown fresh produce.
