Planning a trip to Miami? One of the first things to consider is where to stay! Miami is a city of distinct neighbourhoods, each with its own attractions and charm. Whether you’re looking for beachfront luxury, cultural immersion, nightlife or family-friendly fun, there’s a perfect spot in Miami for you.

Read on for our guide to where to stay in Miami, to make the most of your time in this dynamic city.

South Beach

If it’s your first time in Miami, then South Beach is a classic choice. This iconic neighbourhood is famous for its white-sand beaches, vibrant nightlife and incredible Art Deco architecture. Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue are packed with restaurants, bars, clubs and boutique shops. It’s lively, walkable and right on the beach; ideal for those who want to be right in the heart of the action!

Top tip: Stay at a hotel with direct beach access for the ultimate Miami experience!

Downtown Miami

Downtown Miami is sleek and urban and has high-rise hotels, museums and plenty of entertainment. It’s a great spot for business travellers or anyone who wants quick and easy access to sites like the Perez Art Museum, FTX Arena or Bayside Marketplace. Plus it’s only a short drive to other neighbourhoods in Miami.

Top tip: Choose a hotel with views of Biscayne Bay for a stunning backdrop.

Top tip: Brickell is ideal for couples or solo travellers looking for a balance of relaxation and nightlife.

Coconut Grove

For a quitter, more laid-back Miami experience, Coconut Grove is a charming option. This historic area offers lush greenery, scenic waterfront parks and a bohemian feel. It’s ideal for families or couples who prefer boutique hotels and outdoor cafés over touristy beach crowds.

Top tip: Visit the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens while you’re in the area – it’s one of Miami’s hidden gems!

Wynwood & Midtown

Wynwood is Miami’s creative hub, known for its street art, galleries and cool coffee shops. It’s a great place to stay in Miami if you’d like to immerse yourself in the local arts scene and enjoy trendy restaurants and nightlife. Midtown, just next door, offers a more residential feel with modern condos and a growing number of chic hotels.

Top tip: Check out the Wynwood Walls and visit on the second Saturday of the month for the Art Walk.

Miami Beach

Miami Beach offers a quieter alternative to the hustle and bustle of South Beach. This area is ideal for families or those who want a beach break without the lively party scene. Hotels here often offer larger rooms, family-friendly amenities and direct beach access.

Top tip: Rent bikes and cruise along the Miami Beach Boardwalk. It’s a scenic easy ride for all ages!
