After a long flight, why not head into the Golden Triangle, Kuala Lumpur’s commercial, shopping and entertainment hub to shake off the flight? Shop at high end malls to build an appetite and dine in style at alfresco restaurants and bars. Nearby, the twin Petronas Towers soar into the sky. Enjoy the captivating evening light show that runs daily from 8pm until 10pm. For even better views, head up to the famous skybridge and soak in the sweeping views of the city. Alternatively, these towers are surrounded by a plenty of attractions including the lush greenery of the KLCC Park where you can relax stroll amongst the nature.
Start your day with a visit to the Batu Caves, the famous pilgrimage site with 272 colourful steps which lead you to the stunning cave structures. For a peaceful and pleasant experience, consider visiting in the early morning to avoid large crowds as well as the midday heat! The main attraction includes the impressive statue of Lord Murugan. It is also known for its monkey population.
Afterwards, head back into the city centre and perhaps head to Jalan Alor Food Street in Bukit Bintang to sample some Nasi Lemak, a Malaysian national dish. After, tick off the iconic landmarks including Merdeka Square Park where the national flag was officially raised as a symbol of Malaysian independence, then head to the stunning National Mosque of Malaysia.
In the evening, relax after a busy day of exploring with a massage and some delicious dinner.
Today, head into Chinatown’s bustling markets on Petaling Street to find a bargain and some souvenirs. For lunch, indulge in some more traditional Malaysian cuisine at the many food markets such as Char Kway Teow and Roti Canai. Alternatively, for the true nature lovers, KL Lake Gardens span more than 200 acres in the city centre and are a beautiful location for a picnic. The park features a butterfly park, bird park and a botanical garden.
To complete your 72 hours in Kuala Lumpur, treat yourself to a meal or a drink at one of the fabulous rooftop restaurants such as SkyBar or Thirty8.
