If you’re looking for postcard-perfect beaches, a lively nightlife scene and pleasant weather, then winter is the best time to visit Goa.
Weather: Cool breeze, sunny skies, temperatures between 20°C and 28°C.
Highlights:
• Christmas and New Year parties on beaches like Anjuna, Baga, and Palolem
• The Goa Carnival (usually in February or March)
• Watersports like parasailing, jet skiing and scuba diving are at their best
The best time to visit Goa for: Party lovers, honeymooners, and first-time visitors.
Tip: Book hotels and flights in advance – this is peak tourist season, so prices are higher and spots fill up quickly.
While the heat rises, Goa in the summer has its own charms if you prefer fewer crowds.
Weather: Hot and humid, with temperatures often exceeding 35°C.
Highlights:
• Secluded beaches with fewer tourists
• Cheaper hotels and flights rates
• Great for exploring attractions like churches, forts and spice plantations
The best time to visit Goa for: Budget travellers, solitude seekers and those who don’t mind the heat.
Tip: Carry sun cream, wear light cotton clothing, and stay hydrated!
Weather: Very heavy rainfall, cool climate, and fewer tourists.
We generally do not recommend visiting Goa during this time.
For nightlife: December to February
For budget travel and peace: March to May
