Last but certainly not least, Slovenia is an excellent ‘foodie’ destination. There is a strong emphasis on high-quality, fresh and locally sourced ingredients throughout the country’s restaurants. Ljubljana hosts a weekly food festival in the summer, which is a great opportunity to sample delicious Slovenian classics. Thanks to the country’s mild climate, Slovenia also produces some of the region’s best wine, with vineyards scattered across the country. The Vipava Valley is a particular highlight of Slovenia’s wine-making regions.
