Volcanoes National Park Holidays

Part of the great Virunga Mountain Range, which comprises 8 ancient volcanoes, the stunningly beautiful Volcanoes National Park is the home of Rwanda’s mountain gorillas. With around 10 habituated gorilla groups of up to 33 members, the park offers the opportunity for rewarding sightings.

The oldest national park in Africa and sitting at an altitude of over 2,000m, treks here can be steep and tiring and in the dry season (Jun - Sep & Dec - Feb) gorillas tend to climb higher.

Spotting golden monkeys, buffaloes and elephants and listening to the calls of some of the 178 bird species while tracking mountain gorillas through the dense rainforest is an experience not to be missed!
