Zimbabwe holidays offer an appealing mix of abundant wildlife and impressive landscapes, with the added benefit of world-class safari guides, an exciting range of activities and relatively few visitors.

No holiday to Zimbabwe is complete without magnificent Victoria Falls, one of the world’s natural wonders. The Zimbabwean side of the falls boasts 16 awe-inspiring viewpoints and water flow can be seen year round.

Within easy reach of Victoria Falls by road, air or rail, Hwange National Park is home to a plethora of big game including a large elephant population and wild dogs. Further afield, remote and beautiful Mana Pools National Park is arguably one of Africa’s finest reserves and a great place for walking and canoeing safaris, while Lake Kariba offers wonderful lakeside lodges, as well as game drives and safari cruises.

Trailfinders offers a range of Zimbabwe holidays and our expert travel consultants are a mine of information, often with first-hand travel experience. WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT ZIMBABWE?

The best time to visit Zimbabwe is in the dry season between May and September. At this time game viewing is at its best as animals flock to waterholes and Victoria Falls views are at their most impressive.

The full power of Victoria Falls can be experienced from March to May after which water levels fall until November when rivulets remain and the cliffs which form the falls can be appreciated.

Zimbabwe Top Tips From Our Travel Experts

At certain times of year Victoria Falls has the rare phenomenon of a rainbow at night time using the light of the full moon! The dates can be predicted in advance with a couple of nights offering the opportunity.

Hwange National Park is one of the few national parks in Zimbabwe that is home to the Big 5. It has a varied landscape so when you're looking for wildlife it's still interesting. There are a few man made watering holes which are needed as it gets very dry in the summer, and this makes it easy to spot wildlife.
