French Polynesia Holidays

Holidays to French Polynesia promise picture perfect scenery, inviting azure waters and warm Tahitian hospitality.

Tahiti itself is the largest of the islands and home to the bustling capital Papeete. Often skipped in favour of the more tranquil outlying islands the island does boast some excellent restaurants, the fascinating Gauguin Museum and the beautiful Papanoo Valley with its beautiful waterfall and archaeological sites.

Moorea on the other hand is the Polynesian paradise of your dreams, a rugged beauty of aquamarine lagoons, rugged mountains draped in emerald vegetation and indulgent resorts. There are beautiful beaches to laze on, superb snorkelling in the lagoon and one of the largest ruins in French Polynesia. Hiking, biking, horse riding, lagoon tours

Bora Bora is the French Polynesia of your dreams. Just six miles long with two immense volcanic peaks tumbling down to a bright turquoise lagoon circled by a coral reef, this could be the most beautiful island in the South Pacific.

In stark contrast to the towering peaks elsewhere in the islands, the Taumotos rarely rise more than a few metres above the ocean but this string of coral atolls stretched like a line of pearls across 350 square miles of ocean are no less beguiling despite this.

The Marquesas far out on the north east fringes of the island chain are simply spectacular, knife edge towers of rock, soaring wave crashed cliffs and sunken volcanoes form a dramatic backdrop to the tiny villages scattered about these islands.

Diving in Tahiti is exceptional with warm waters and visibility over 40 meters every island has a raft of good dive sites. The shallow lagoons make a wonderful natural swimming pool to enjoy your first dive and experienced scuba divers can enjoy wreck dives, deep drop offs, drift dives and even shark feeding. The variety of marine life is astonishing with dolphins, sharks and rays common companions. You can even snorkel with humpbacks if you catch them in season.
