Consider getting an Octopus card on arrival at the airport. This can be used for most travel, stores and fast food purchases (similar to an Oyster card in London) But don't forget most of the old style trams will take you for a fixed rate of HKD 3.30 (30p!) whether you're going one stop or ten!
