Tasmania Holidays

Perhaps Australia’s best kept secret, Tasmania’s natural beauty is simply spectacular, with dramatic coastlines, lofty mountains and one of the planet's last great wildernesses.

More surprising still you’ll also find moving history, cosmopolitan cities and some of the finest dining on the continent.

Australia no1

Trailfinders is the UK and Ireland's No.1 to Australia and one in six of all visitors from here travel with us. Almost all of our travel consultants have travelled extensively here, often returning time and time again.

Here's a selection of our most popular holidays in Tasmania.
If you'd like to see how you could fit this state into a wider exploration of the country - take a look at our Australia Holidays page.

Resting between the towering Mount Wellington and the majestic River Derwent, Hobart creates a surprisingly cosmopolitan gateway for your Tasmanian adventure, with a moving convict history and superb restaurants to discover. Nearby are the Tasman Peninsula’s soaring cliffs, the Port Arthur Historic Site and Bruny Island’s beaches.
    Cradle Mountain
    Cradle Mountain
The craggy profile of Cradle Mountain looms over the Lake St Clair National Park, home to many superb long and short walks and an abundance of bird & wildlife.
This quaint riverside town is located on the edge of Tasmania's World Heritage listed wilderness area, where the Gordon and Franklin Rivers twist their way through the verdant landscape.
    Freycinet National Park
    Freycinet National Park
Driving up the East Coast, the magnificent views up the Freycinet Peninsula and across to Maria Island stretch out in front of you - turquoise waters, bound by sweeping white beaches and the orange lichen-stained cliffs of the Hazards Ranges. Wedge-tailed eagles soar over head, and lazy wallabies and other fascinating marsupials, unique to Tasmania, observe passers-by from the fringes of the bush.
Explore Launceston’s colonial past, visit historic buildings, take a ride on the longest single span chairlift at Cataract Gorge and enjoy the many excellent restaurants on offer.
