Jordan Holidays

the middle east
Jordan holidays promise unforgettable adventure, combining remarkable natural beauty with extraordinary man-made wonders. From fascinating ancient ruins to sweeping desert landscapes and vibrant coral reefs, Jordan offers a rich blend of history, culture and outdoor exploration in one compact and captivating destination.

Explore Amman, Jordan’s bustling capital, discover preserved Roman amphitheatres and colonnaded avenues in Jerash, and admire the remarkable Byzantine-era mosaics in Madaba. No visit is complete without experiencing the Rose Red City of Petra, where magnificent facades carved into sandstone cliffs create one of the world’s most iconic archaeological wonders.

In the south, Wadi Rum may well be Jordan’s best kept secret, with its dramatic desert scenery and star-filled skies. If coastal relaxation calls, Aqaba offers exceptional Red Sea diving and luxurious hotels, while floating in the mineral-rich waters of the Dead Sea provides a truly unique and rejuvenating experience.

Trailfinders offers a range of Jordan holidays and our expert travel consultants are a mine of information about what to do here, often with first-hand travel experience. Whether you want to explore the origins of Petra on a private tour, join a guided small group adventure through the vast sands of Wadi Rum or perhaps cycle or walk the trails of the Nabateans - they are the perfect people to ask.

WHEN TO VISIT JORDAN?

Jordan in spring (March to June) and autumn (September to November) are popular times to visit, when the weather is warm during the day with a cool breeze in the evening.

The peak of summer, July and August, see rising temperatures with a dry heat. The winter months are cold in the north of the country but around Aqaba and the Dead Sea the climate is more pleasant.

Jordan Top Tips From Our Travel Experts

Abbi Harris - expert
Abbi Harris

Visiting Petra is a truly incredible experience and well worth dedicating a full day to exploring the depths of the archaeological site. The Treasury can often be a hub of activity, however if you venture out to explore other impressive rock carvings, you will find very few other tourists.

Siobhan Blest - expert
Siobhan Blest

Wadi Rum’s spectacular scenery should not be missed! A stay in a desert camp really adds to the atmosphere especially at sunrise and sunset.

Bethanie Hall - expert

If you have a bit more time to spare and would like to relax from sightseeing, then head down to Aqaba. Make sure while you’re there, you go out on a snorkelling trip - the visibility is incredible, and the coral is bright, healthy and full of life.
