WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT VIETNAM?
The north of the country becomes colder in the winter months (Dec-Mar) while the south remains warm and clear. While the summer months (late Jun-Aug) bring the monsoon rains and are hot and humid, particularly in the south. For the central region the months between February and August are the best time to visit, rainfall is highest here from October to December.

Vietnam Top Tips From Our Travel Experts
Richard Standen
Ho Chi Minh is the big hustle bustle city you would expect. Easily the best and most exciting way to explore is on the evening street food Vespa tour. Not only do you get to sample some incredible food that is easily missed otherwise, but you find some small corners of the city that again you would only see on this tour!

Visit one of Hoi An's famous tailor shops to have new clothes made in 24 hours. Browse the shelves of fabric and catalogues of designs before getting measured up or bring one of your favourite items from home to have it copied. There are high end establishments like Yaly or pop into one of the smaller shops often adjoining the seamstresses' family home for something really authentic.

For anyone looking for great vegetarian food in Vietnam’s capital Hanoi, go to Katze just a couple of streets away from Hoan Kiem Lake. It’s cheap, locally owned and supports rough sleeping youths in the city so is also a worthwhile cause. When I was in Hanoi, I went three separate times, it was that good!
