Trailfinders View
Set high on an escarpment in a secluded spot to the west of the national park, Muchenje Safari Lodge is a charming traditional lodge with just 11 thatched cottages and fantastic views. It offers access to the quieter western section of the park for game drives, plus night game drives in their private concession when predators are most active. There is also the option to explore this area on the waterways on a safari cruise which departs from Kasane, an hour’s drive away or by traditional mokoro canoe (seasonal). If you're interested in the smaller wildlife, then a walking safari can be arranged with a specialist guide (seasonal) who will show you how to look for tracks and signs of the often overlooked Little Five.
When you're not out on safari unwind in the properties comfortable lounges, by the fire pit or overlooking the stunning scenery at the outdoor pool. Guests staying for longer can also book onto a trip to a nearby village to gain a cultural insight into the local community. Dining is often a highlight, with communal meals served family-style on the deck to magical views over the river.
Each of the thatched, stone built rooms is traditionally furnished with panoramic views of the Chobe River and the Caprivi floodplain from the terrace. This property is unfenced so animals may be seen around the lodge and you will be escorted to your room at night.
Please note Trailfinders does not offer this property to children 5 & under.

Trailfinders Hotel Classification Guide
Modest accommodation with basic facilities, representing good value where price is the main priority.
Simple, comfortable accommodation and facilities offering good value for the destination.
Good standard of accommodation and/or facilities and overall a higher level of service may be expected.
High international standards of accommodation and facilities where luxury and quality of service are priorities.
Indicates that the property offers a higher than average level of accommodation and facilities when compared to other properties of the same classification.
Unique, often smaller and sometimes historic properties, which offer individual charm and are consequently very popular. They offer the standards of accommodation indicated by their classification but rooms may be smaller than average and not all facilities may be available.
Trailfinders classifications are for your guidance only and do not mirror any international "star rating" system. In each case, the full description of the property should be read and used in conjunction with the classification indicated. A 3★ city hotel, for example, may be more expensive than a 4★ if it is in a prime location. Classifications are unique to a destination and can reflect local or regional variations in quality and service, so a 5★ in a particular area may not be comparable with a 5★ elsewhere.
