Xugana Island Lodge

With an excellent location on a private concession beside the permanent waters of the Xugana Lagoon (pronounced “Kugana”), this comfortable lodge takes full advantage of its magnificent setting.

Explore the wildlife of the waterways on motorboat cruises and mokoro safaris, track some of the larger species that inhabit this lush wilderness on guided walking safaris and game drives, or take to the skies on a scenic helicopter flight (pre-booked at extra cost). The diversity of wildlife makes for excellent bird-watching with over 400 different species, alongside catch & release fishing which is also available. Buffet style meals are taken communally in the open-sided dining area or alfresco on the deck, while an open boma overlooks the expanse of pristine water. For a place to relax, multi-level communal areas such as the deck and lounge ensure sweeping views of the landscape, whilst the bar and pool offer waters edge vistas.

Each of the 12 Luxury Tents are comfortably furnished with a private deck overlooking the lagoon. For larger groups travelling together, there is an interconnected tent made up of two en-suite rooms. This lodge has a high fence only so some animals may come into camp and you will be escorted to your room at night.
