One&Only Cape Town

Wow! The One&Only Cape Town is the best hotel I've ever stayed in. We stayed in an Island Superior Room which is a short walk across a bridge from the main hotel, but closer to the (heated) pool and spa. Upon check in, we were given tea and then provided with an orientation walk around the property - it's a big hotel so this was appreciated. The hotel offers golf carts to take you to and from the island if needed and will even drop you off at the waterfront.

The spa area is lovely – the hotel offers free use of the sauna, steam room, and thermal pool for all guests which was a pleasant surprise. The shower in the spa is fantastic, and I preferred it to the one in our room! The spa has a 'menu' where you can ask for anything you need such as hairbrushes, tweezers, or lotion.

Travelling in winter, this was the only hotel that had a heated pool on our itinerary which was a lovely surprise. In the off season, the pool bar and restaurant are closed - it didn't impact our stay, but just something to note.

The breakfast was probably the highlight for me - anything you could want was there! We ate late one morning, and the staff were still actively replenishing all the stations so nothing was missing. The staff also made us to-go coffees when we needed to leave early for a day tour. We also ate dinner at the main restaurant one night; prices were very reasonable with mains being between £15-20 each.

The gym is unsurprisingly amazing, great equipment and even complimentary smoothies in the fridge! Everything is thought of.

I would recommend this hotel for all, especially those looking for something a bit more special. The One&Only Cape Town is a premium option, but it truly is a class above.
