Pumba Water Lodge

We stayed in the amazing Kudu Suite at Pumba Water Lodge - this would be a great option for families because it has two bedrooms each with their own bathroom, a shared living room and a wraparound deck with a plunge pool! The bedrooms were amazing, with some elements like an outdoor shower, spacious jetted tub and floor to ceiling windows to be able to view the waterhole. Turndown service was impeccable, each time we left the room we came back to it tidied up!

The property looks directly out onto the waterhole where we saw hippos and waterhogs aplenty. We even could see one of the famous Pumba white lions in the distance! The unique selling point of this property are the white lions and their new cubs. They're very beautiful! I thoroughly enjoyed the game drives in general and felt I saw everything I expected and more.

The food was tasty with plenty of options. I'm vegetarian and felt well looked after, they provided a separate menu for me. There was also a specific pescetarian menu. A nice cosy setting for evening meals with a log pit burning.

All in all this is a solid 4★ game lodge – book with confidence!

Top tip: Pumba Water Lodge doesn't have a spa, but Bush Lodge does, they can take you there if you're staying at Water and would like a spa treatment.
