Alila Ubud

We loved our stay at Alila Ubud. The rooms have a traditional Balinese feel and had a balcony overlooking the valley - the beds were very comfortable, and the shower was nice and powerful.

The breakfast was a la carte and you can order as much as you like, so you can have a mixture of eggs, Indonesian style dishes, breads, pastries, cereals and fruits. We had a sunrise trip to Mount Batur booked, and even though we departed for this at 2am, the hotel still organised us a fresh takeaway breakfast to take with us.

We had dinner in the Cabana restaurant twice; it has chilled vibes and the staff were attentive and had remembered our names and room number by the second night. The food was also really good!

The service was 5★ standard throughout. I would note however that there’s lots of steps around the resort and would therefore not recommend it to the less mobile. There are a few monkeys wandering around the resort which definitely gave the 'jungle' feel!

Top tip: Make the most of seeing the sights of Ubud during your stay, including the beautiful countryside, the rice paddies, Mount Batur, local villages, and coffee plantations.
