Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort

This is a beautiful hotel set amongst the lush greenery and hills of northern Thailand. It is quite a unique location, being so close to the borders of Myanmar and Laos.

The rooms are spacious and very well appointed. The style of the resort is really lovely, with many elephant themed design touches.

Most of the rooms, the infinity pool and main restaurant all have great views of the scenery, and you can occasionally see the elephants in the distance. The restaurants had great food with fantastic service.

I very much enjoyed staying in the hotel for meals and included activities, but there is a free bike hire available for those who want to explore the nearby small town or area.

I would strongly recommend taking part in the activities on offer. We did the walking with elephants which was a great experience and with lots of fun photo opportunities - They give you fun double denim uniforms and boots to wear, and you can walk with the elephants through their habitat, learning about how they are cared for, their backgrounds, the mahouts and some stories. They are in a sanctuary and most have been rescued from working in the circus.

Top tip: Book your activities in advance and do the walking with the Elephants early if possible as it avoids the heat and they are most active then.
