Santhiya Koh Yao Yai Resort & Spa

This hotel is a really nice option for those looking to get away from the busier mainland options and enjoy some beach time. The hotel is set on a beautiful stretch of beach and goes up into the surrounding hills. To get around the resort you are taken by shuttles which operate point to point and get you the main pool area, spa, breakfast restaurant or your room. The hotel is set up and designed to feel like a Thai village. It is constructed mainly of wood and has a traditional look and feel. This extends to the rooms which were beautiful, spacious and all have beautiful sea views. The jacuzzi bath and outside seating is a nice touch.

There was a huge pool area which was lovely, but we spent most of our time on the beach. I would recommend a walk along the beach as you will see several bars and food option that might appeal to you.

The hotel restaurants served typical Asian cuisine and had the same menu except the Japanese one which had its own menu. The food was good and service great of course. Breakfast was the highlight with great options but mainly the sea views made it fantastic. There were classes and a gym as well as, kayaks and paddle boards on the beach to use and several day trips you could take if you felt like doing some sightseeing. The spa was fantastic and really good value.

Top tip: Mama Seafood was a real highlight of our stay on Koh Yao Yai. The most amazing Pad Thai.
