Banyan Tree Phuket

Banyan Tree Phuket is a beautiful resort set around several natural lagoons, part of the wider 'Laguna Resort', separated from the beach by a quiet beach road.

The Banyan Pool Villas are spacious with a more traditional Thai style décor. The private pool was immaculate, as was the villa generally. It also features a separate outside bathtub and a Japanese loo!

Despite all the villas having private pools, the main pool area is fantastic with several interlinked pools, including a mini 'lazy river' for kids (and adults it turns out), and a very decent length pool for those that want to get some exercise. All the pools are surrounded by tranquil seating areas, sun lounging areas, lush foliage and beautiful Thai architecture. It’s a very relaxed space that compliments the private pool villas perfectly.

Their signature Thai restaurant 'Saffron' was excellent. Aside from this there is a good choice of restaurants including Japanese, Italian, Thai 'street food' tapas, and a sports bar.

The spa is excellent and well worth recommending. Beautiful private treatment pagodas and a huge range of treatments and massages available make the experience perfect for a special treat.

There are free shuttles that ferry guests across the Laguna Resort, and even a boat service from the hotels central lagoon to the cute little Laguna Centre where there are some restaurants and shops (for getting the steps in this is probably a half hour easy walk).

Top tip: New in 2025 is the Banyan Tree's 'Rava Beach Club', either a 30 minute stroll along the beach or a free shuttle away. It has a beautiful bar, restaurant and pool with a perfect beachside location. Great for a sundowner or an afternoon lounge for a change of scenery (pool loungers/cabanas are chargeable). Food and drinks can be charged to your room.
