Ryokan Asunaro

With its traditional façade and original features throughout, this charming family-run ryokan grants visitors a truly authentic and memorable stay. Offering excellent 'omotenashi' (Japanese hospitality), this characterful and homely property is the perfect base from which to explore Takayama’s old streets and the surrounding northern Alps region. Located a short walk from Takayama train station, there is also free use of bicycles to explore more of this quaint town. Guests can enjoy a soak in the indoor onsen which collects its water from a nearby hot spring, providing a great way to rejuvenate the body. Dinner features Hida beef, a regional speciality sourced locally to ensure only the finest produce is served. Rooms are Japanese in style with tatami mat floors and futon mattresses; some have traditional period features like sunken hearths (display only).
