The Ritz-Carlton Tenerife, Abama

The Ritz-Carlton Tenerife Abama was superb, I can't recommend enough. It is a great option for anyone as it has such varied facilities and areas. It is a very big resort, but it does not feel busy at all, I was very shocked when the staff told me that it was at full capacity.

We stayed in the Retreat area which was incredible. It is worth noting that staying at the Retreat will be a completely different experience to staying at the Citadel. I would recommend the upgrade as you have access to a different pool area that is stunning. In addition, they provide complimentary drinks and snacks throughout the day. The breakfast area is also much nicer as it's on an outside terrace overlooking the sea which I loved. You’ll also receive a one complimentary pass to the spa if you’re staying at the Retreat which was well worth going to! Some of the Retreat Villas also came with a golf buggy to drive around the resort!

The gym was great with an outdoor space overlooking the golf course. There are also daily activities available (some free and some are additional charge). There are plenty of restaurants to dine at however, I suggest prebooking restaurants in advance as some were fully booked for us. The hotel is located quite far away from other shops and restaurants (nearest town is a ten minute drive away and the airport is a 30 minute drive away).

I highly recommend staying here, I would love to go back!

Top tip: Book to go to the spa in the morning (9am) for a chance to enjoy it all to yourself!
