Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea

Kempinski Hotel Ishtar is a stunning hotel set raised above the Dead Sea with access to the beach below. The standards are very high as you'd expect from the Kempinski hotels.

We had a Pool View Suite which was brilliant as it's close to the main restaurants and is right next to the lazy river pool. You can also request lower floor rooms which allow direct access to the pool in front. The infinity pool was also stunning and offers great views over the sea.

The hotel is huge so I'd highly recommend an upgraded room, as the lead-in rooms can be easily a ten minute walk from most of the pools and the beach.

There are various restaurant choices and cuisines to choose from; the Lebanese restaurant was particularly good with a varied menu - worth booking in advance or at check-in. Breakfast was buffet with lots of choice.

The highlight was the Dead Sea experience - the main purpose of the visit. Swimming in the sea followed by a body scrub with mud and sea salt. Staff are on hand to assist beachside. The spa also offers luxurious dead sea salt and mud treatments.

Overall this is a stunning hotel and the best way to experience the Dead Sea.

Top tip: Visit the rooftop bar in the Ishtar Building for amazing cocktails and the best sunset views.
