East Africa Highlights

Day 1  Fly to Nairobi, Kenya    

Day 2  Nairobi      
Welcome to Nairobi! On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel in the centre of this bustling city.      

Day 3  Nairobi to Masai Mara NR      
Rise early and meet your driver/guide and the rest of your small group for a briefing on your Kenya Classic safari. Travel through Kenya’s highlands to the lip of the Great Rift Valley. Descending the Rift Escarpment, you’ll reach the Masai Mara in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive.      

Day 4  Masai Mara NR      
After an early breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive. The Masai Mara is classic safari country: wide open grasslands dotted with acacia trees – why not add a hot air balloon trip to view the reserve from above? After lunch set off for an afternoon game drive and later visit a traditional Masai village.      

Day 5  Masai Mara NR to Lake Nakuru NP      
Drive to the shores of picturesque Lake Nakuru and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the surrounding national park. Black and white rhino, hippo, giraffe and lion can all be found here, as well as a variety of birdlife.      

Day 6  Lake Nakuru NP to Amboseli NP      
Today is a long day as you leave the Great Rift Valley behind and head south. Stop at Lake Naivasha for a boat ride and then, after an early lunch in Nairobi or a picnic lunch en route, continue to scenic Amboseli National Park.  

Day 7  Amboseli NP      
Depart after breakfast for a full day game drive and enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the bush, before returning to the lodge later to watch the sun set.      

Day 8  Amboseli NP to Zanzibar, Tanzania      
Leave Amboseli and travel north to Nairobi. Take a short flight to Zanzibar where you will be met and transferred to your beach resort.  

Days 9-14  Zanzibar      
This stunning island boasts wonderful beaches and warm turquoise waters.  With seven nights on the island you have plenty of time to enjoy the attractions on offer. Perhaps explore atmospheric Stone Town, the historic quarter of the capital, on a half day tour or head out to the offshore Prison Island and see its its resident giant tortoises! Alternatively, spend your days relaxing on the beach.      

Day 15-16  Fly home
