Itinerary
Day 1 Fly to Johannesburg
Day 2 Johannesburg
Arrive early into Johannesburg airport and transfer to your hotel. With an enviable location in upmarket Sandton, the stylish Radisson Blu Hotel Sandton provides an ideal base to explore this exciting city. Once checked in, head to nearby Nelson Mandela Square and its neighbouring shopping centre to sample the selection of trendy bars and restaurants.
Day 3 Soweto Township Tour & afternoon at leisure
The city of Soweto, just south of Jo’burg, is steeped in history and lays claim to being the former home of both Desmond Tutu and Nelson Mandela and the centre of political campaigns aimed at overthrowing the apartheid regime. Spend the morning reliving this turbulent period of South Africa’s past on an informative tour, before heading back to your hotel to perhaps relax by the trendy rooftop pool for the afternoon. It’s the perfect place to watch the sun set over the city with a cocktail in hand.
Day 4 Johannesburg
Spend the day at leisure, perhaps opting to go on the Private Introduction to Johannesburg tour, which takes you from Constitution Hill and the inner city to the regenerated Maboneng Precinct and upmarket Lower Houghton.
Days 5-6 Fly home
Make the most of your last few hours in the city, before transferring back to the airport for your flight home.
