Itinerary
Welcome to Cape Town. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. After check in, walk along the scenic V&A waterfront and enjoy delicious local cuisine with the stunning harbour as your backdrop.
Days 2-3 Cape Town
Head out on a Robben Island & City Tour, where you will learn about the 18 years that Nelson Mandela was held captive as well as visiting the famous Bo-Kaap area and District 6 Museum. The following day, experience a scenic Cape Point & Peninsular Tour. Begin by travelling to Cape of Good Hope and ascend Cape Point for enchanting views of the Atlantic Ocean. Afterwards, stop at Boulders Beach, home to a colony of lively African penguins.
Day 4 Board Oceania Sirena
Transfer to the port and board Oceania Sirena, ready for your exciting adventure.
Day 5 Relaxing at sea
Day 6 Luderitz, Namibia
Luderitz offers colourful architecture scattered along the Atlantic coastline. Explore Kolmanskop, now a ghost town, previously the hub for the diamond trade. The restored waterfront features beautiful Art Nouveau buildings, and the waters house penguins, dolphins, sharks, and seals.
Day 7 Walvis Bay
Surrounded by the impressive inhospitable Namib Desert, Walvis bay boasts a large natural lagoon that attracts a variety of birdlife, including flamingos and pelicans. The desert’s Dune 7 is the highest dune close to town and offers sweeping views.
Days 8-10 Relaxing at sea
Day 11 São Tomé, São Tomé and Príncipe
São Tomé is a tropical haven with lush rainforests, secluded waterfalls, idyllic beaches, and prime birdwatching opportunities. Whilst here, why not hike to the peak of Pico de São Tomé and marvel at the spectacular views?
Day 12 Relaxing at sea
Day 13 Lomé, Togo
Nestled between a lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean, Lomé is home to a rich history and striking beaches. To learn about the city’s past, head to the National Museum and the spired Sacred Heart Cathedral.
Day 14 Sekondi-Takoradi, Ghana
Sekondi-Takoradi was Ghana’s first deepwater seaport and is now a relaxed city with inviting beaches. Visit Monkey Hill, a tropical reserve for primates, and discover Fort Orange which was built by the Dutch in the 17th Century, which has since become a lighthouse.
Day 15 Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire
Abidjan is Côte d'Ivoire’s largest city and former capital and is often referred to as the ‘Paris of Africa’ due to being one of the world’s most prominent French speaking cities.
Days 16-18 Relaxing at sea
Day 19 Banjul, The Gambia
Banjul is one of Africa’s smallest cities, located on St Mary’s Island at the mouth of the Gambia River. Explore the village like atmosphere and admire the 19th century architecture.
Day 20 Dakar, Senegal
Once under French rule, Dakar is full of rich history and interesting architecture alongside art galleries, beaches, and incredible views from the Les Mamelles Lighthouse.
Day 21 Relaxing at sea
Day 22 Mindelo for São Vicente, Cape Verde
Enjoy time in charming Sao Vicente and the amazing surrounding landscape. Make sure to visit the bustling markets and see the replica of Lisbon’s Belém Tower.
Days 23-24 Relaxing at sea
Day 25 Arrecife, Lanzarote
Explore some of the world’s most spectacular caves and unwind on the white sand beaches.
Day 26 Agadir, Morocco
Discover the 16th Century kasbah (fortress), which is located on a hilltop boasting expansive views over the Atlantic, the city, and the beaches. Stroll through Berber village and the many souks, perhaps pick up a souvenir or two.
Day 27 Relaxing at sea
Day 28 Disembark in Lisbon, Portugal
Disembark Oceania Sirena and transfer to your hotel in Lisbon. After checking in, head out and explore the iconic sights of the city. Wander to the historic Praça do Comércio which features impressive buildings, before visiting Time Out Market to sample delicious cuisine from the many eateries. Make sure to grab a Pastel de Nata along the way, an absolute delicacy.
Day 29 Lisbon
Today, make your way to Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest district and stroll through the streets that are filled with characterful buildings. After, continue to Bairro Alto and immerse yourself in this bustling neighbourhood of colourful houses and various restaurants. To end your day, enjoy the sunset from one of the many viewpoints, or from a rooftop bar with a refreshing cocktail in hand.
Day 30 Lisbon
Venture out of the city to Sintra. Discover the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Pena Palace, which sits atop a rocky hillside, it’s brightly coloured façade a feat of romantic design. Soak up the fairytale setting of the palace and explore the lovely village of Sintra below before returning to Lisbon this afternoon.
Day 31 Lisbon
Enjoy one last Pastel de Nata before transferring to the airport for your onward travels.
