Romantic South Africa & Mauritius

Day 1  Fly to Cape Town, South Africa    

Days 2-3  Cape Town  
Arrive in Cape Town. This beautiful city is the ideal spot to begin your romantic holiday. Wander around the V&A Waterfront and enjoy local cuisine with the striking harbour as your backdrop. The next day, head out on a private guided trek up majestic Table Mountain for incredible photo opportunities and vast views.    

Day 4  Cape Town    
Today, set your own pace. Perhaps enjoy a stroll along the beach in upmarket Camps Bay, visit Robben Island, the infamous former prison where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated, or join a whale watching tour to Hermanus.  

Days 5-6  Cape Town to Franschhoek
Pick up your car and drive through rolling countryside to the charming village of Franschhoek, which boasts fabulous restaurants and boutique shops. The following day, hop on the Franschhoek Wine Tram to sample the range of delectable produce which makes this area so special.  

Day 7  Franschhoek to Swellendam    
Continue east, passing historic Cape Dutch homesteads and dramatic valleys towards quaint Swellendam. Nestled between the lush mountains which surround the town on all sides, spend a leisurely afternoon exploring, being sure to sample the fine cuisine on offer. Return to your peaceful hotel and relax in the beautifully manicured gardens.    

Days 8-9  Swellendam to Plettenberg Bay  
After breakfast, travel onwards to the pretty town of Plettenberg Bay. Here a multitude of activities awaits, from horse riding, ziplining and watersports to beaches and wildlife sanctuaries.    

Day 10  Plettenberg Bay to Eastern Cape Game Reserve    
No South African holiday would be complete without a safari experience, so today arrive at your Eastern Cape lodge in time for a thrilling game drive. Learn about the reserve’s conservation efforts from your knowledgeable ranger.    

Days 11-12  Eastern Cape Game Reserve    
Two game drives are included on your full days so keep your eyes peeled for those big cats! Relax back at camp between game drives and as night falls, the sound of the bush surrounds as you savour a delicious meal by candlelight.  

Days 13-14  Eastern Cape Game Reserve to Mauritius    
Enjoy a final early morning game drive before heading back to Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) for your flight to the Indian Ocean’s stunning island of Mauritius, via Cape Town. Arrive in Mauritius early the following morning and settle into your romantic hotel.    

Days 15-18  Mauritius    
Spend lazy days by the pool, enjoy time on the beach or indulge in a pampering spa treatment. Be sure to sample the fantastic cuisine and intimate atmosphere at the hotel’s restaurants.    

Days 19-20  Fly home
