Itinerary
Day 2 Arusha
Upon arrival transfer to your hotel.
Day 3 Arusha to Lake Manyara NP
After lunch depart Arusha and travel across the wide open plains of the Masai Steppe, passing small villages and coffee plantations. Arrive at your lodge late afternoon.
Day 4 Lake Manyara NP to Serengeti NP
Head off on a morning game drive around Lake Manyara National Park. The lake is home to several groups of hippos, pelicans and storks and the surrounding park offers stunning scenery and an abundance of wildlife and birds. After lunch back at the lodge, depart for the Serengeti with game viewing en route.
Day 5 Serengeti NP
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti. The migration of more than 2 million wildebeest, gazelle and zebra is perhaps the most dramatic feature of this park, however you are sure to see a wide variety of wildlife whenever you travel. Why not add a hot air balloon flight to view the park from above?
Day 6 Serengeti NP to Ngorongoro Crater
Set off through the Serengeti towards the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. Stop for a picnic lunch on the way before arriving at your lodge.
Day 7 Ngorongoro Crater
Drive through the morning mists to the crater floor, where excellent game viewing can be found year round, with big cats, elephants, hippos and rhinos, as well as a plethora of birds. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater and head back to your lodge late afternoon.
Days 8-9 Transfer to Arusha and fly home
Travel to Arusha for lunch before an afternoon transfer to the airport for your flight home.
Additional Options: After an exhilarating safari, take time to relax on the exotic islands of Zanzibar or Pemba. Fly from Arusha to Zanzibar to explore the lively streets of Stone Town and unwind on beautiful white sand beaches, or head to Pemba to experience the undiscovered beauty of the ‘green island’. Choose from a range of all inclusive resorts to boutique hotels. Speak to your Trailfinders travel consultant.
