Itinerary
Days 3-5 Sydney
Explore Sydney’s iconic architecture, ubiquitous beaches and famous harbour. Scale the Harbour Bridge and discover the insider secrets of the unique Sydney Opera House.
Days 6-7 Sydney to Blue Mountains
Pick up your car hire and drive to the tranquil beauty of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. Hit the trails and admire dramatic rock formations including the famous Three Sisters.
Days 8-11 Blue Mountains to Hamilton Island
Drive back to Sydney and fly to spectacular Hamilton Island in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. Enjoy some time to relax as well as discovering underwater wonders and white sand beaches with an included trip to the picture perfect White Haven Beach.
Days 12-13 Hamilton Island to Brisbane
Fly from Hamilton Island to Brisbane for the next couple of days, uncovering trendy rooftop bars, breweries and restaurants.
Days 14-15 Brisbane to Atherton Tablelands
Fly to Cairns and pick up your car hire to wind your way up to the elevated highlands known as the Tablelands. Take in the tropical surroundings from your treehouse accommodation, or head out to sample local rum and spot colourful birdlife.
Days 16-18 Atherton Tablelands to Cairns
Drive back to Cairns where you will be based for the next couple of days whilst you cruise to the Outer Barrier Reef, unwind on dazzling beaches and take to the trails of the tropical Daintree Rainforest.
Days 19-21 Cairns to The Red Centre
Fly to Ayers Rock to discover the ancient wonder of Uluru and explore the fascinating surrounding area. Watch the sun rise above this spectacular monolith and head out to the mystical domes of Kata Tjuta.
Days 22-25 The Red Centre to Melbourne
Fly to Melbourne and spend the next days exploring this captivating city. Famous for its thriving gastronomy and café culture, Melbourne is also a fantastic base for your included trips to the scenic Great Ocean Road and Phillip Island to see its penguin residents.
Days 26-28 Melbourne to Perth
Fly to Perth where you will have the next three days to relax. Enjoy a guided tour of Perth and Fremantle, as well as plenty of free time to explore the beautiful parklands and nearby beaches.
Days 29-30 Perth to Rottnest Island
Catch the short ferry to charming Rottnest Island to discover the friendly marsupial residents that roam the rolling dunes. Discover pristine beaches and hidden coves and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere at your modern beachside glamping accommodation.
Days 31-32 Rottnest Island to Margaret River
End your Aussie adventure with what the Aussie’s do best: world-class food and award-winning wine. Drive to Margaret River for an indulgent range of vineyards, markets and boutique breweries. Savour your last few days in this laidback foodie haven.
Day 33 Margaret River to Perth
Return to Perth to drop off your car, before hopping over to Auckland on an overnight flight.
Days 34-35 Auckland
You’ve landed in the Land of the Long White Cloud! Discover this cosmopolitan city’s bustling harbour and fantastic restaurant scene.
Days 36-37 Auckland to Rotorua
Pick up your car and head to the geothermal wonderland of Rotorua, home to steaming hot springs, bubbling mud pools and exploding geysers.
Days 38-39 Rotorua to Tongariro NP
Head south to the volcanic landscape of Tongariro National Park, where you can experience one of New Zealand’s greatest day hikes, the spectacular Tongariro Alpine Crossing.
Days 40-41 Tongariro NP to Wellington
Pass through pretty countryside before arriving in New Zealand’s capital and cultural heart.
Days 42-43 Wellington to Blenheim
Journey across the Cook Strait to the charming town of Blenheim, the perfect base to explore the Marlborough wine region, home of delicious Sauvignon Blanc.
Days 44-45 Blenheim to Kaikoura
Follow the coast to the picture-perfect seaside town of Kaikoura, famed for its abundant marine life. Join a whale watching cruise to see these magnificent animals in the wild.
Day 46 Kaikoura to Christchurch
Continue to Christchurch and drop off your car before taking a stroll along the banks of the Avon River and perhaps visiting Hagley Park’s botanical gardens.
Day 47 Christchurch to Franz Josef
Rise early to board the TranzAlpine train to Greymouth. This iconic journey is one of the most picturesque rail routes in the world, crossing dramatic gorges and passing remarkable mountain scenery via Arthur’s Pass. Arrive at lunchtime and pick up your car, before continuing south on the scenic drive to Franz Josef.
Day 48 Franz Josef
This picturesque village is surrounded by rainforest and sits close to the base of the stunning Franz Josef glacier.For an experience like no other, why not take to the skies by helicopter and experience an exhilarating hike across the ice.
Day 49 Franz Josef to Wanaka
One of the most breathtaking drives on your journey, relish the gorgeous scenery as you meander down the west coast past majestic Mount Cook and stunning coastal vistas. On arrival in Wanaka, perhaps kayak on the crystal clear lake or dine in one of the lakeside cafés.
Day 50 Wanaka to Queenstown
Today, enjoy the scenic drive from Wanaka to Queenstown
Days 51-52 Queenstown
The alpine town of Queenstown offers year-round activities and fantastic dining options. Head out on a cruise and experience the awe-inspiring scenery of Doubtful Sound.
Days 53-54 Fly home
Drive to Queenstown airport to drop off your car and board your overnight flight home.
