Itinerary
Days 3-6 Sydney
Sydney boasts stunning architecture, a vibrant harbour and magnificent beaches. Discover the iconic landmark on a tour of the Sydney Opera House, and venture beyond the city to encounter the spectacular scenery and wildlife of the Blue Mountains.
Day 7 Cruise Embarkation
Transfer to Sydney port, board the Discovery Princess 2® and set sail for Willis Island.
Day 10 Willis Island
Willis Island, part of the Coral Sea Island Territories, a mostly uninhabited chain of islands, located on the outskirts of the Great Barrier Reef is an excellent destination for coral reef diving and wildlife spotting. Look out for the sacred kingfisher, boobies and nesting turtles. It is also home to the Meteorological Bureau weather monitoring station which tracks cyclones in the region.
Day 11 Port Douglas
Popular with locals and tourists alike, ‘Port’ has been enchanting visitors for years. Relax on beautiful Four Mile Beach, head straight out onto the Great Barrier Reef or explore the nearby rainforests of Daintree National Park and Mossman Gorge.
Day 12 Yorkeys Knob (Cairns)
Arrive into Yorkeys Knob, a coastal suburb of Cairns, where the Great Barrier Reef meets the rainforest. Lively Cairns makes for a fun and convenient base with its abundance of relaxed restaurants, shops and markets. Swim, snorkel, sail, surf or discover the host of endemic plants resident in the nearby Daintree rainforest.
Day 13 Airlie Beach
Spend time in vibrant Airlie Beach, a popular departure point for The Whitsundays offering a multitude of day tours and excursions to the famous Great Barrier Reef.
Day 15 Brisbane
Wander the pretty streets of the central business district and over the Story Bridge, have a picnic on South Bank and explore the lively suburb of Fortitude Valley.
Days 17-18 Fly home
Disembark in Sydney and fly home.
Days not listed are spent relaxing at sea.
