Itinerary
Days 1-2 Fly to Adelaide
Day 3 Adelaide
Upon arrival in Adelaide, pick up your car and make your way over to your hotel situated in the beachside suburb of Glenelg. This afternoon, settle into your hotel and stroll along the charming seaside promenade.
Day 4 Adelaide
Spend the day at leisure. Perhaps visit the Central Market or explore the beautiful botanic gardens in the city. Hop in the car and cruise down the spectacular Route 31 Coastal Drive, passing pretty villages, spooky shipwrecks and attractive beaches.
Day 5 Adelaide to Kangaroo Island
Drive to Cape Jervis and board the car ferry to Kangaroo Island for the beginning of your wild adventure.
Day 6 Kangaroo Island
Explore South Australia’s nature playground with the Kangaroo Island Experience tour. Discover the rugged south coast with a local guide and go wildlife spotting around Flinders Chase National Park. Stop for lunch before enjoying a beach walk at Seal Bay Conservation Park.
Day 7 Kangaroo Island
Today, look out for koalas, kangaroos, sea lions and other native wildlife as in this haven of natural beauty as you see more of the island at your own pace. Perhaps visit the Cape Willoughby Lighthouse or descend into the maze-like Kelly Hill Caves.
Day 8 Kangaroo Island to Adelaide
Wave goodbye to your new animal friends and take the ferry back across to the mainland. Drive back to Adelaide for one more night to finish your sightseeing.
Day 9 Adelaide to Melbourne
Drop off your car at the airport and take a short flight to Melbourne. Make your way to your hotel before enjoying a stroll through the city’s quirky laneways and bustling shopping districts.
Day 10 Melbourne
Today, see more of the fantastic scenery around Melbourne with a tour to the Mornington Peninsula. Visit the award-winning Moonlight Sanctuary wildlife park to get up close to some of Australia’s native species and soak up the views on Woolamai Surf Beach. End the day with the world-famous Penguin Parade, where the feathery residents of Phillip Island waddle their way up the beach.
Day 11 Melbourne
Perhaps take a tram down to the trendy beach town of St Kilda. Hop on a ride at its historic waterfront amusement park or enjoy a drink in the sunshine at one of many outdoor bars.
Day 12 Melbourne to Grampians NP
Pick up your car from the city depot and begin your journey into the mountains. Rising dramatically from the Western Plains, watch the landscape morph into rugged sandstone cliffs and dramatic canyons as you enter Grampians National Park.
Day 13 Grampians NP
Spend your day enjoying hiking trails across volcanic plains, spotting wildlife on a bushwalk. Opt to take a scenic drive to some of the Grampians breathtaking panoramic viewpoints.
Day 14 Grampians NP to Sydney
Leave the wilderness behind as you head back to Melbourne for your flight to Sydney. Upon arrival, make your way to your hotel.
Day 15 Sydney
Go behind the scenes of Taronga Zoo, the ‘zoo with a view’, on a tour led by wildlife specialists. Perfect for all ages, learn about Australia’s native animals and encounter them up close.
Day 16 Sydney
Today, learn to surf like a pro on the iconic Bondi Beach. Learn the basics from your instructor, then ride the waves just like the world champions before you.
Day 17 Sydney
Use your last full day in Sydney to see some of the city’s most famous sights. Perhaps marvel at the spectacular harbour view from the Royal Botanic Gardens, jump on a ferry to quirky Luna Park or simply take in the cosmopolitan atmosphere of Sydney’s downtown. You could even opt to see the city from a bird’s eye view with the exhilarating BridgeClimb experience, taking you up and over the stunning Sydney Harbour Bridge.
