Itinerary

Days 1-2  Fly to Melbourne

Days 3-6  Melbourne  
 Arrive in Melbourne and transfer to your hotel for the rest of the day at leisure. Depart on an exciting tour of the city, taking in the sights of this cultural hot spot. Visit the iconic Brighton Beach Bathing Boxes, explore Melbourne’s laneways and relax aboard a cruise on the Yarra River. The following day, enjoy a trip to the Yarra Valley wine region to savour local wines and learn about traditional techniques from your guide.

Day 7  Melbourne to Hobart      
Fly to Hobart and enjoy the afternoon at leisure. Perhaps take in the views over the city from the summit of Mount Nelson before meeting your group this evening over a meal.

Day 8  Hobart to Strahan      
Today, visit Mount Field National Park, home to some of the tallest eucalyptus and flowering plants on Earth. Wander to Russell Falls and continue to Lake St Clair, the deepest freshwater Lake in Australia, before arriving in Strahan.

Day 9  Strahan to Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair NP      
This morning, cruise along the inky black waters of the Gordon River. Spot the unique flora of the Gondwana rainforests including the ancient Huon pine trees before getting to Cradle Mountain.

Day 10  Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair NP to Burnie      
Journey up to the top of Cradle Mountain and explore Dove Lake before heading to a wildlife sanctuary to meet the iconic Tasmanian Devil. After, leave the Central Highlands towards the scenic northwest coast.

Day 11  Burnie to Launceston      
On your way to Launceston, stop at Table Cape for spectacular views of Tasmania’s coastline. Afterwards, visit the quaintly named town of Penguin, adorned with sculptures of the namesake animal.

Day 12  Launceston      
Discover the nature around Launceston with a trip to Cataract Gorge, a dramatic chasm surrounding by bushland and Victorian gardens.

Day 13  Launceston to Bicheno  
Smell the strong aroma of lavender waft through the air as you pass the lavender farms of Bridestowe, where this flower is used in not only fragrances but also ice-cream, tea and jam. As you pull into Bicheno, watch the little penguins waddle to shore.

Days 14-15  Bicheno to Hobart      
Soak in the beauty of the breathtaking Freycinet Peninsula, a patchwork of ocean blues and pink granite cliffs, on your way back to Hobart. The final day will be spent uncovering the notorious history of the Port Arthur historic site before a farewell dinner at a waterfront pub.

Days 16-17  Fly home
