Canada Encompassed - Atlantic to Pacific

Days 1-2  Fly to Halifax  
Fly to Halifax and spend the next couple of days exploring this picturesque harbourside city nestled in the beautiful province of Nova Scotia. The city is compact, walkable and best known for its maritime history and hilltop Citadel – a unique fort that was completed in the 1850s.    

Days 3-5  Halifax to Montréal  
Enjoy the convenience and comfort of rail travel as you board Via Rail’s The Ocean and travel overnight to Montréal, a city known for its collision of French and British influences. Head out on a walking tour of the city, to learn of Old Montréal’s history and renowned architecture. Later, explore the winding streets, endless boutiques and devour local delicacies – be sure to try make sure you try Montréal’s famous poutine: french fries, gravy and cheese curd.  

Days 6-8  Montréal to Toronto  
After a few days exploring charming Montréal, hop on Via Rail’s The Corridor route and journey alongside the Saint Lawrence River as you travel towards Toronto. From its expansive waterfront to its varied neighbourhoods, spend the next few days exploring this cosmopolitan city. No trip to Canada is complete without visiting the thundering waters of Niagara Falls. Take in the spectacular views and on a clear day, you might also be able to see the skyline of Toronto in the distance.  

Days 9-18  Toronto to Whistler  
Fly from Toronto to Calgary and pick up a car on arrival to start an iconic road trip through the Rockies. Admire the vast rugged mountains in Banff National Park, the emerald waters of the incomparable Lake Louise and the Columbia Icefield Glacier. Take in the beautiful scenery in Jasper National Park as you search for native wildlife, before arriving in the famous resort town of Whistler where they’ll be opportunities to spot the elusive grizzly bear! Spend the days immersing yourself in the beautiful outdoors, exploring scenic walking trails and marvelling at the viewpoints, before enjoying relaxing evenings in your handpicked hotels. En route to Whistler, stop in Sun Peaks for the next two nights. Embark on a leisurely hike to take in the panoramic views and soak up the sun.    

Days 19-21  Whistler to Vancouver
Leaving Whistler behind, drive along the beautiful Sea to Sky Highway to reach the vibrant city of Vancouver. Spend your last few days enjoying Vancouver’s natural beauty in Stanley Park, discovering Granville Island’s market, and exploring Capilano’s suspension bridges offering views high above the forest floor. The following day, weave through the picturesque Gulf Islands on a ferry ride from Vancouver to Victoria and explore Victoria’s historic and vibrant harbour as well as the world-renowned Butchart Gardens – the perfect end to your epic tour of Canada.

Days 22-23  Fly home
