Itinerary
Begin your journey in Toronto, Canada’s largest city.
Days 2-3 Toronto
Spend a couple of days taking in the sights of Toronto. Board the Toronto Hop-on Hop-Off Bus Tour for the perfect way to hit all the highlights of this city on your first full day, including the famous CN tower, the trendy distillery district and scenic waterfront. On your second day head out from Toronto on a full day tour to Niagara Falls to tick this natural wonder off your bucket list.
Day 4 Toronto to Gimli
Leave the big city behind and fly west to Manitoba. Pick up your car and take a short drive to the lakeside community of Gimli.
Day 5 Gimli
Learn about the unique Nordic origins of the settlers to Gimli and the surrounding area of New Iceland at the New Iceland Heritage Museum. Delve further into Icelandic lore by visiting Viking Park and strike a pose beside the imposing Viking statue. Located on the shore of Lake Winnipeg, take a stroll along Gimli harbour to see the colourful seawall gallery covered in artistic murals or visit the beach where there are options to hire kayaks and floats.
Day 6 Gimli to Riding Mountain NP
From Gimli drive on to your next stop, Riding Mountain National Park.
Day 7 Riding Mountain NP
Scenic hiking trails await you today. Riding Mountain National Park is home to black bears, elks, moose and lynx so keep your eyes peeled for some wildlife sightings.
Day 8 Riding Mountain NP to Winnipeg
Get back on the road to drive to the capital of Manitoba, Winnipeg. Once you’ve dropped off your car it’s time to get to know this charming city.
Day 9 Winnipeg to Churchill
Head north to the dramatic arctic tundra for the next part of your adventure. From Winnipeg fly to Churchill and transfer to the 3★ Lazy Bear Lodge. Discover more about this fascinating town on the Churchill Heritage Tour before visiting the Polar Bear Holding Facility and learn how the local community coexists with these mighty predators on the polar bear alley.
Days 10-12 Churchill
Settle into this cosy lodge and prepare to discover an exciting range of wildlife. Take a boat tour on Hudson Bay for the chance of sighting arctic wildlife including polar bears and look out for beluga whales on the magnificent Churchill River. Optional additional excursions from the lodge include dog mushing and kayaking.
Day 13 Churchill to Winnipeg
Savour a final glimpse of the Manitoba wildlife on the impressive Arctic Crawler™ tundra tour. Say farewell to Lazy Bear Lodge before your flight back to Winnipeg.
Day 14 Winnipeg
Finish your journey off in Winnipeg before heading home or onwards to your next destination.
