Toronto & Costa Rica

Days 1-2 Toronto, Canada  
Arrive into Toronto and head to your hotel, your base from which to explore this cheerful city. Spend the next day exploring the city with a 24 hour unlimited hop-on hop-off bus tour. See the city’s highlights at your own pace from the sky-piercing CN Tower, to the artsy Distillery District, Chinatown and also the picture perfect waterfront.

Day 3 Niagara Falls    
Take a break from city life with a guided coach tour south to thundering Niagara Falls. In the summer months, get up close to the falls on the water with Hornblower’s Voyage to the Falls, in winter take a Journey Behind the Falls.

Days 4-5 Central Valley, Costa Rica            
Transfer to the airport for your flight to San José in Costa Rica. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in the lush Central Valley. Enjoy a day at leisure. Why not visit a coffee plantation to learn about the coffee producing process from bean to cup?

Day 6 Central Valley to Tortuguero NP    
Depart early and journey by road towards the Caribbean coast through an increasingly tropical landscape. Continue by boat along winding jungle-lined canals to reach your lodge. Enjoy an afternoon tour to the village of Tortuguero and learn about the sea turtles which visit the area every year to nest (Jul - Sep).

Day 7 Tortuguero NP                
Explore the Tortuguero National Park on guided tours by boat and by foot. This unique environment is home to a huge variety of wildlife including monkeys, sloths and many species of colourful birds.

Day 8 Tortuguero NP to Arenal                
Travel by boat and road to the small town of La Fortuna, in the shadow of the impressive cone of the Arenal Volcano.
Days 9-10 Arenal              
Take an exciting treetop tour along hanging bridges through the rainforest, enjoying sensational views and learning about the different flora and fauna of the area.

Day 11 Arenal to Monteverde          
Today’s scenic journey to Monteverde will take you through beautiful landscapes and across the waters of Lake Arenal.

Day 12 Monteverde              
Enjoy a fascinating early morning excursion into the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Look out for the diverse range of birdlife and other fauna which call the forest home.

Day 13 Monteverde to Manuel Antonio NP        
Drive from the cool temperatures of the cloud forest to the warmer Pacific coast. Stay in the town of Manuel Antonio beside the popular national park.

Days 14-15 Manuel Antonio NP          
Discover the national park on a leisurely guided hike. Look out for toucans, brightly coloured macaws, sloths and troops of playful monkeys whilst taking in the breathtaking ocean views.

Day 16 Manuel Antonio NP to San José    
After breakfast return to San José for your onward travel arrangements.
