72 Hours in Beijing

Day 1  Beijing    
On arrival into Beijing, you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2  Beijing    
Today you will meet your guide for a private tour of some of the iconic landmarks China’s capital is famed for. With a history dating back over 3,000 years, Beijing is a melting pot of deep-rooted culture, ancient relics and a bustling modern metropolis. Explore the opulent palace complex of the Forbidden City, a sprawling UNESCO World Heritage Site housing over 980 buildings, the largest example of its kind and a testament to China's imperial history. Venture then onto the historically significant Tiananmen Square, framed by museums and memorials, including the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong. Finish your tour at the Temple of Heaven, a vast religious site that features exquisite architecture and symbolism reflecting the Chinese belief in the connection between earth and heaven.

Day 3  Beijing    
Prepare to check one off your bucket list as you get picked up by your private guide for a trip to the Great Wall, a wonder of the world. Take a cable car up to the mountaintop and wander along the Mutianyu Section which is the best-preserved part of this monumental structure. Admire the sweeping views of the wall snaking up the breathtaking mountainside as far as the eye can see, adorned with intact watchtowers that give a tangible connection to history. End your day with a stop at the Summer Palace imperial garden, a masterpiece of landscape design and another UNESCO World Heritage Site that blends the beauty of the natural surrounds with intricate palaces and temples.

Day 4  Beijing    
This morning, transfer back to the airport in time for your onward flight.
