Classic China and Hong Kong

Day 1  Beijing  
Arrive in Beijing and transfer to your hotel. Bags dropped, step into this dynamic city.

Day 2  Beijing  
Explore Beijing's highlights. Visit Tiananmen Square and enter the Forbidden City, an impressive 180-acre UNESCO World Heritage Site and historic palace. After, head to the Temple of Heaven, a masterpiece of Chinese architecture.

Day 3  The Great Wall of China  
Travel out to the Great Wall at Mutianyu and walk along this incredible ancient structure. Later, on your return to Beijing, visit the impressive Summer Palace.

Day 4  Beijing to Xian  
Depart Beijing and travel the scenic journey to Xian by high-speed bullet train.

Day 5  Xian  
The world-famous Terracotta Warriors are an unforgettable sight. A full day of sightseeing includes a visit to this magnificent army, as well as the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Xian’s Muslim Quarter.

Day 6  Xian to Chengdu  
Board a bullet train to Chengdu, home to the famously spicy Sichuan cuisine.

Day 7  Chengdu  
Head to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding and spend some time observing these adorable animals. Later, visit the 17th Century Marquis Wu Temple and stroll along historic Jinli Street, lined with beautifully restored buildings.

Day 8  Chengdu to Guilin  
Today is yours to explore however you wish. Perhaps discover the museums and shops of Chengdu or unwind in a cosy tea house before your flight to Guilin.

Day 9  Yangshuo  
Take a cruise along the Li River and sail past breathtaking mountain scenery. Stop at Yangshuo, a bustling town full of cafés and craft shops before returning to Guilin by road.

Day 10  Guilin to Shanghai  
Transfer to Guilin airport for your flight to Shanghai, the 'Paris of the East'.

Day 11  Shanghai  
Discover the main attractions in this impressive city. Stroll through the lovely Yu Gardens and visit the Jade Buddha Temple and lively old town.

Day 12  Shanghai  
Take a walking tour of the picturesque former French Concession area with its cobbled streets and traditional Shikumen townhouses. Enjoy some free time for some final exploring and souvenir shopping.

Day 13  Shanghai to Hong Kong    
Upon arrival in Hong Kong, transfer to your hotel where the rest of your day is at leisure. Why not head to Kowloon for an authentic taste of Hong Kong, sampling a range of delicious street food?

Day 14  Hong Kong  
This morning, explore Hong Kong Island on an insightful private tour. Take the famous Peak Tram to the summit of Victoria Peak for incredible panoramic views, ride the Star Ferry and learn about Hong Kong's history and culture as you walk through the bustling city streets. This afternoon, continue exploring this exciting city at your own pace. Perhaps head over to central Kowloon and visit Temple Street Market, selling everything from unique jade and antiques to clothing and stunning artwork– you can be sure to come away with plenty of souvenirs for home.

Day 15  Hong Kong  
Today is at leisure. Work your way round the local markets trying the mouthwatering local delicacies or spend the day on Lantau Island, where you can discover a different landscape of dramatic mountains and travel to the impressive Big Buddha statue. This evening, soak up the atmosphere at an open air hawker court whilst enjoying some delicious dumplings. After, perhaps head out on the waters of Victoria Harbour. With uninterrupted views of the glittering skyline, be mesmerised by a spectacular light show.

Day 16  Hong Kong              
Enjoy your final morning at leisure before taking a transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
