Leave Chengdu and head to Mount Qingcheng, the birthplace of Chinese Taoism. Ascend by cable car and discover some of the many cultural, religious and historic sites for which the mountain is famed. Later continue to the nearby Dujiangyan Irrigation System. Built around 250BC, this ingenious feat of engineering provided water to the fertile farmlands of the Chengdu plains and is still used to this day.
