Cycling in Albania

Day 1  Pogradec          
Arrive in Pogradec at any time with the rest of your day at leisure.          

Day 2  Pogradec to Germenj          
Begin cycling this morning after a short bus transfer to Korce. Leaving the agricultural plateau, ride towards the magnificent imposing mountains, before reaching Germenj in the depths of its own pretty valley.          

Day 3  Germenj to Benje        
This morning, start with a climb out of Germenj before a spectacular descent to Carshove and a very scenic route to Benje. After lunch, soak your climbing legs in some thermal springs.    

Day 4  Benje to Gjirokastra          
Continue riding through the valley towards Kelcyra with its many peaks, until entering a gorge where you will pause for lunch next to a waterfall. Afterwards, transfer to Gjirokastra for a cultural tour off the bike.          

Day 5  Gjirokastra to Saranda          
After a transfer to the top of Muzina Pass, start cycling the wonderful descent to Saranda on the Ionian Coast. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Butrint and learn about the ancient remains.          

Day 6  Saranda to Himare        
After breakfast, a steep climb to a rocky plateau is rewarded with stunning views. The ride stays along the coast, keeping the mountains on the right, until a descent into the bay of Himare.          

Day 7  Himare to Vlore      
Today is challenging if you choose to ride, as you climb Llogara pass. The support vehicle is often used, but strong riders will challenge themselves on the pass. End today by relaxing on the beach.          

Day 8  Vlore          
Your tour ends after breakfast.
