Escape to the Adriatic - Dubrovnik & the Bay of Kotor

Day 1  Dubrovnik, Croatia  
Fly to the splendid medieval city of Dubrovnik, known as the 'Pearl of the Adriatic'. Explore the fortified old town at your leisure, perhaps strolling along the city walls for phenomenal views of the iconic architecture and beautiful, blue ocean.

Day 2  Dubrovnik
Over the next couple of days, spend time wandering the labyrinth of white stone streets discovering the sites including the historic Onofrio’s Fountains, pretty Rector's Palace and the fascinating Franciscan Monastery and Museum, which features a pharmacy that has been operating since the 14th Century.

Day 3  Dubrovnik
Today, why not join a Game of Thrones tour to visit some of the famous places seen on the show. Visit Fort Lovrijenac, which was used as a filming location for the Red Keep, then sit on the iconic Iron Throne. Alternatively, perhaps indulge in some tasty Croatian delicacies with a food tour visiting some of the old town's best eateries. In the evening, opt to take a cable car up to the top of Mount Srd, the perfect spot to watch the sunset with panoramic views of the coast and old town Dubrovnik below.

Day 4  Dubrovnik to Bay of Kotor, Montenegro    
Pick up a car and drive south, winding along the stunning Mediterranean Coast. Cross the border into Montenegro to arrive at the picturesque Bay of Kotor.

Days 5-7  Bay of Kotor  
Enjoy a few days here relaxing and soaking up the scenic surroundings. Walk along the lovely harbourfront, appreciating the sound of the waves on the pebble beaches. Visit some of the wonderful bars and restaurants to savour cocktails and Mediterranean cuisine whilst admiring stunning ocean views. Explore the charming town of Perast, filled with beautiful 16th and 17th Century Venetian palaces. Looking out on to the bay from here you can enjoy views of Our Lady of the Rocks and St George Island. Perhaps drive further around the bay to visit the cobbled streets of Kotor’s old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or stop at some of the pretty nearby beaches which offer the perfect spot for taking a dip in the Adriatic Sea.

Day 8  Fly home    
Drive back to Dubrovnik to drop off your car in time for your flight home.
