Family Fun in Croatia: Split, Hvar & Dubrovnik

Day 1  Split    
Fly to Split, Croatia’s second largest city, and transfer to your hotel. This evening, enjoy the delightful restaurant scene along the waterfront.

Day 2  Split    
Today, discover the city through its food. Join your walking food tour and try delicious, authentic food whilst your guide offers some insights into the city. There will also be a number of fun photo opportunities along the way – the perfect way to capture your favourite family memories. Afterwards, perhaps dive into Roman history and visit the impressive Diocletian’s Palace, an ancient and sprawling complex in the heart of the old town.

Day 3  Split    
On your final full day in Split, why not head to one of its pebble beaches. Bacvice Beach lies just outside the old town and offers warm, shallow waters ideal for swimming. Alternatively, escape into nature and take to the shaded pine forest trails up to Marjan Hill. Here, there are a number of playgrounds as well as stunning views over the city and sea.

Day 4  Split to Hvar    
Hop on board your ferry to the island of Hvar, one of Croatia’s crown jewels. After settling into your hotel, discover the labyrinthine alleys of Hvar’s old town and find a delicious spot to eat along the waterfront.

Day 5  Hvar    
This morning, why not visit the Spanish Fortress, combining fascinating history with breathtaking views. Afterwards, head back down to the lively central hub of Saint Stephen’s Square, perhaps rewarding yourselves with an ice cream. This afternoon, head to one of the many pretty coves for some well-earned rest or some fun water activities.

Day 6  Hvar    
Today, embark on a scenic cycling trail or perhaps take a boat tour to the nearby Pakleni Islands where the whole family can enjoy fun activities such as paddle boarding and snorkelling.

Day 7  Hvar to Dubrovnik    
Board your ferry to Dubrovnik, the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’, famed for its UNESCO World Heritage listed old town and as a primary filming location for the hit television series Game of Thrones.

Day 8  Dubrovnik    
Today, join your unique, private Game of Thrones tour of Dubrovnik and explore the streets of this fictional city, visiting the mysterious Red Keep and sitting on the famous Iron Throne. Both kids and adults will enjoy this tour regardless of whether you have watched the show. Afterwards, why not lap up fun and games on the beach with Banje Beach located just outside of the old town.

Day 9  Dubrovnik    
Before the afternoon sun hits, why not walk along the ancient city walls for the best views, admiring the red roofs of the old town along with fortresses and turrets - a real castle adventure for the kids. Later, perhaps leave the city and take a ferry over to the island of Lokrum, a beautiful car-free oasis with lots of perfect swimming spots including a large saltwater lake.

Day 10  Fly home
