Itinerary
Day 1 Split
Fly to Split, Croatia’s second largest city, and transfer to your hotel. This evening, wander along the Riva, the palm-lined waterfront promenade and enjoy dining alfresco in one of the atmospheric restaurants overlooking the water.
Day 2 Split
Today, discover the UNESCO World Heritage listed Diocletian’s Palace, an ancient Roman palace and fortress built at the end of the 3rd Century. Impossible to miss, this sprawling complex makes up the heart of the city as the old town was built into the ruins themselves. This afternoon, wander the stalls of the Pazar, Split’s central Green Market and navigate the winding streets of the fascinating old town.
Day 3 Split
Head to one of the pebble beaches for a day of relaxation. Walkable from the old town, Bacvice Beach is ideal for its urban location, or further away Kasjuni Beach offers an idyllic setting at the base of Marjan Hill. For stunning views, perhaps walk the forested slopes of Marjan Hill from the centre of Split.
Day 4 Split to Hvar
Hop on board your ferry to the island of Hvar, one of Croatia’s crown jewels. After settling into your hotel, discover the labyrinthine alleys of Hvar’s old town and find a delicious spot to eat along the waterfront.
Day 5 Hvar
At the heart of Hvar town lies Saint Stephen’s Square, a lively hub surrounded by historic architecture and charming cafés. After soaking up the atmosphere in the square, make your way up to the Spanish Fortress for incredible panoramas over the harbour and sea. This afternoon, perhaps head to one of the many pretty coves dotted around the island.
Day 6 Hvar
Discover the natural beauty of the area, whether that’s on a wine tasting tour among picturesque vineyards, cycling through the pine forested trails, or on a boat tour to the nearby Pakleni Islands, known for its hidden coves and snorkelling spots.
Day 7 Hvar to Dubrovnik
Board your ferry to Dubrovnik, the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’, famed for its UNESCO World Heritage listed old town and as a primary filming location for the hit television series Game of Thrones.
Day 8 Dubrovnik
Today, join your guided walking tour of the city and learn about its fascinating history. Walk to the top sites including Onofio’s Fountains, St Saviour Church and visit the Old Port to hear about Dubrovnik’s maritime endeavours. Afterwards, why not reward yourself with some downtime on the beach with Banje Beach located just outside of the old town.
Day 9 Dubrovnik
Before the afternoon sun hits, make sure to walk along the ancient city walls for the best views, admiring the red roofs of the old town along with fortresses and turrets. Later, perhaps leave the city and take a ferry over to the island of Lokrum, a beautiful nature preserve dotted with serene pebble coves.
