Festive Copenhagen City Break

Day 1  Copenhagen    
Upon arrival, take the short train journey into Copenhagen’s city centre. Settle into your hotel before heading out to explore this festive city. Start by walking along the Nyhavn waterfront where will find the iconic colourful buildings along the harbour dazzling in festive lights. If visiting on Santa Lucia (13th December) take in the kayak parade along the canal.      

Day 2  Copenhagen    
Begin your stay by visiting one of several Christmas markets across the city. Decked with wonderful decorations, local handicrafts and the cosy scents of apple and cinnamon, you will find plenty of choice finding the perfect gift. Warm up with delicious Danish treats or perhaps a cup of ‘gløgg’, a spiced mulled wine. Spend the evening at the historical and whimsical Tivoli Gardens. Illuminated with Christmas lights, this magical place offers plenty of amusement for the whole family from rides, including one of the world’s oldest wooden roller coasters, to family fun shows. Wander along the gardens filled with food stalls and sparkling decorations or hire some ice skates and zip around on the ice-skating rink.      
Day 3  Copenhagen    
In addition to all the wonderful Christmas markets on offer there is plenty of other attractions to explore. Perhaps visit one of the beautiful castles such as the stunning Rosenborg Castle, take a canal tour and see the iconic Little Mermaid or maybe be tempted by one of the spas or even ice bathing. Just a short journey outside of the city centre you will find Copenhill, an unusual building that is both a clean energy powerplant and an artificial mountain top, great for anyone looking for a unique hiking or skiing experience. End your trip to Copenhagen with a high by treating yourself to one of the many Michelin-starred restaurants in the city.      

Day 4  Copenhagen    
Spend one final morning at the Christmas markets before heading to the airport for your onward flight.
