Northern Iceland's Diamond Circle

Day 1  Akureyri          
Upon arrival, collect your car and make your way to Akureyri, the largest town in northern Iceland. Take advantage of the town’s free bus service, passing cosy wooden buildings and stopping at heart shaped traffic lights. Spend the afternoon in a charming pub or unwind at one of the calming spa pools just a short drive away.        

Day 2  Godafoss Waterfall & Lake Myvatn          
Drive to your first stop on the Diamond Circle, the impressive Godafoss Waterfall. Admire the water cascading over the edge and tumble into the river below. Continue to Myvatn, Iceland’s fourth largest lake that boasts wonderful natural beauty. Explore neighbouring geological sites such as Krafla Caldera and imposing Hverfjall Crater or enjoy a relaxing afternoon at the Myvatn Nature Baths.          

Day 3  Dettifoss Waterfall, Asbyrgi Canyon  & Husavik          
Drive to Dettifoss Waterfall, one of Europe’s most powerful waterfalls. Hear the falls rumble among the awe inspiring landscape. Continue your drive towards the coast, stopping to see the impressive Asbyrgi Canyon boasting expansive views. Drive along the pristine coastline to the pretty town of Husavik, the oldest settlement in Iceland.    

Day 4  Akureyri          
Leave Husavik and make your way back to Akureyri. Spend the day exploring the old town and waterfront.          

Day 5  Akureyri          
Enjoy your final morning before dropping off your car for your onward flight.
