Classic Italy by Rail & Tuscany Extension

Day 1  Rome                      
Arrive into Rome and make your own way to your hotel. Get acquainted with the Eternal City, perhaps walk along the River Tiber or visit the city’s botanical gardens.                      

Day 2  Rome                      
Spend the morning exploring the beautiful Vatican Museum with a knowledgeable guide before gazing upon Michelangelo’s world-famous murals in the Sistine Chapel. For dinner, perhaps head to an authentic restaurant in charming Trastevere.                      

Day 3  Rome to Florence            
Travel on board Italy’s comfortable, high-speed rail network to the beautiful city of Florence. This evening, be sure to walk up to Piazzale Michelangelo and marvel at the panoramic vistas of this stunning city, before enjoying the delicious food and wine this region is famous for.                      

Day 4  Florence                
Today discover the stunning architecture and fine art of Florence. Not to be missed is the Il Duomo di Firenze, majestically dominating the skyline. The terracotta dome is easily the city's most iconic landmark and your included entry allows you to skip the line. For a more laidback experience, take a stroll through the beautiful Boboli Gardens.    

Day 5-6 Tuscany  
Take a short 30 minute transfer from Florence to the beautiful Tuscan countryside and stay at the 4★ Hotel Villa Fiesole. Spend the next couple of days relaxing at the villa with a cocktail by the pool or grab your walking shoes and explore the nearby walking trails in the Tuscan Hills.    

Day 7  Tuscany to Venice            
Transfer back to Florence, board your train and watch the rolling hills of the Italian countryside pass by as you head north to Venice. Upon arrival, enjoy your first glimpse of this romantic city and perhaps indulge in some fresh Italian gelato while soaking up the atmosphere.            

Day 8  Venice                      
Take a full day to explore this mesmerising and intricate city with beautiful views around every corner. Visit St Mark’s Square, home to the magnificent Basilica di San Marco and the grand Palazzo Ducale. Experience the beauty of Venice from the water as you cruise along on your Grand Canal Boat Tour, exploring the majestic waterways framed by towering Venetian Palaces.                    

Day 9 Venice                  
Take a stroll around Rialto Market, perhaps sampling some fresh produce, before making your way to the airport for your flight home.
