Umbria: Perugia & Beyond

Day 1  Perugia              
Touch down into Perugia and start your adventure in the cobbled streets of this historic city. Marvel at the splendid San Lorenzo Cathedral and medieval Maggiore fountain before relaxing with a bowl of delicious local truffle pasta and a glass of native red wine.              

Days 2-3  Perugia  
Spend your next two days delving into the fascinating history of Perugia and the beauty of its surrounding countryside. Venture under the magnificent Rocca Paolina fortress into the miles of weaving passages on your included private walking tour; relax on the shores or splash in the crystal clear water of Lake Trasimeno, or visit the Frasassi Caves, widely considered the most impressive in Europe.              

Days 4-5  Assisi              
This morning, admire the picturesque scenery en route to your hotel in the UNESCO awarded town of Assisi; after gaining your bearings through your included Assisi walking tour, the next two days are yours to explore all that the traditional town has to offer. Why not visit the glorious Basilica di San Francesco and majestic Rocca Maggiore fortress, or maybe stroll around Spoleto’s Roman amphitheatre before visiting a nearby vineyard? If you’re feeling active, climb Mount Subasio for sweeping views or visit the stunning multi-level Marmore Falls, Italy’s highest waterfall.            

Day 6  Assisi              
Enjoy your final sips of aromatic coffee in this pretty town before driving back to the airport for your flight home.
