Itinerary
Day 1 Verona
Fly to Verona and upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 Verona
Today, explore the UNESCO World Heritage listed city, starting off at the impressive Roman amphitheatre, overlooking Piazza Bra, which dates to the 1st Century and is the third largest in the world. Later, admire the balcony and statue of Juliet at the Gothic Casa di Giulietta – said to have inspired Shakespeare.
Day 3 Verona
Take a scenic stroll over the grand Ponte Pietro, under which the Adige River flows, before climbing up to the medieval fortress of Castel San Pietro, with views over the rooftops of Verona. Reward yourself with an authentic pizza at Piazza delle Erbe, the city’s bustling market square.
Days 4-6 Verona to Ortisei
Collect your vehicle and begin the journey to the stunning Italian Alps. Ortisei, within the Val Gardena region, is known for offering some of the Dolomites most renowned hiking routes and cycle paths, featuring jaw dropping cliffs, spectacular flora and charming villages.
Days 7-9 Ortisei to Cortina d’Ampezzo
After a leisurely breakfast, drive to Cortina d’Ampezzo, known for its spectacular national park and fashionable boutiques. Pack a picnic and take to the hiking trails, stopping at viewpoints such as the Lago di Sorapiss, Cinque Torri or Rifugio Lagazuoi. Wander through Cortina, perhaps stopping to take photos of beautiful chalets and stunning lookout points.
Day 10 Fly home
Drive to Venice airport and drop off your car in time for your flight home.
