Historic Trondheim in Summer

Day 1  Trondheim            
Arrive into Trondheim and make your way to your hotel. Spend the afternoon wandering the winding streets and browsing the plethora of art museums and galleries. The Trondheim Art Museum or National Museum of Decorative Arts are the perfect place to start.            

Day 2  Trondheim            
This morning, walk below the crimson archways of the Old Town Bridge to the pretty neighbourhood of Bakklandet. Characterised by pastel-hued houses, cobblestone streets and trendy riverfront restaurants, it’s a village hidden within the city. Later, visit Munkholmen islet, previously a fortress, monastery, and even an execution station. This fascinating island is a popular spot to enjoy a swim in the sapphire fjord. This evening, head down to the former shipyard of Solsiden, now bustling with outdoor dining by the quay.            

Day 3  Trondheim            
Start today with a visit to the majestic Nidaros Cathedral, widely regarded as the most magnificent church in Scandinavia. Later, why not visit the Rockheim Museum and take a trip down memory lane with the interactive installations dedicated to Norway’s pop music. Finish your day with a visit to the Tyholttarnet observation deck for stunning views of the city and surrounding wild landscape. The deck features a revolving restaurant, the ultimate setting to appreciate the sweeping views.    

Day 4  Trondheim            
After an exciting three days exploring Trondheim, savour your last morning with a final walk along the picturesque quayside, browsing souvenirs before transferring back to the airport for your flight home.
