Like all the best cities Lisbon effortlessly combines the old and traditional with the modern and adventurous. Catch the iconic yellow 28 tram to the top of the Alfama district then make your way downhill through the maze-like narrow cobblestone streets. Continue on to Bairro Alto and immerse yourself in this lively neighbourhood of pastel painted houses and buzzing restaurants before enjoying the sunset from a viewpoint, or perhaps a rooftop bar.
Day 3 Lisbon
Today explore beyond the city as you embark on your included Sintra Small Group Tour. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the inimitable Pena Palace sits atop a rocky hillside, it’s brightly coloured façade a feat of romantic design. Soak up the fairytale setting of the palace and explore the lovely village of Sintra below before returning to Lisbon this afternoon.

Days 5-10 The Algarve
With 3,000 hours of sunshine a year and over 200km of coastline, the Algarve has something for everyone. Beyond the beautiful resorts and stunning beaches there are many places to explore from dramatic cliffs and the mesmerising Benagil Cave to national parks and lively seaside towns. Perhaps visit the nearby fishing villages to watch the morning catch come in or take a boat trip to spot dolphins frolicking off the coastline. The sardines produced in the region are amongst the best in the world. The fish is so important that almost every town in the region holds festivals during the summer season to celebrate them!
